Cerbaiona's Rosso di Montalcino shares the same great terroir and micro-climate as the Cerbaiona Brunello, but is subjected to less wood treatment and refinement in bottle before release. It is produced in even fewer amounts than the Brunello. Fioretti describes it as "a wine you can't help but love." The grapes were from a SINGLE vineyard, where richer clay soils provide a more richly fruited, appealing wine. This deceptively complex Rosso will age well and remain in peak drinking condition for some time after that brief extra aging.
